WEALTH & POVERTY Who Do They Think They Are? Topic Index

NEW OPINIONS

  1. It's impossible for the poor to escape from aggravation. Most have to live in accommodation where they are driven mad by their neighbours for a start.
  2. The rich get the confidence that money gives, the poor get the lack of it that poverty gives.
  3. The moronic thicks who govern us think it is acceptable for some people to be multi-millionaires and even multi-billionaires while others have to beg on the streets, they think this is a perfectly just and satisfactory state of affairs.
  4. £30 million contract for Robbie Brightwell? I've heard buskers who sound as good as he does, not that he sounds anything other than ordinary. Most people can sing and, with a bit of practice most could probably sing well enough to at least sing in a choir, it isn't a particularly rare or difficult accomplishment so why is it so highly rewarded?
  5. It is one of the functions of the state to protect the general population from the greed, avarice, self-indulgence, extravagance, narcissism, vanity, ego-mania tyranny, exploitation and other forms of corruption of the Fat Rats.
  6. Filthy Feudalism gives multi-millionaires the freedom to become multi-billionaires.
  7. Prosperous people are making the poor poorer by putting upward pressure on wages generally. This makes the poor who work in manufacturing too expensive to compete against international competition from the Far East, hence the jobs of all our productive workers are disappearing rapidly in the direction of China and it's neighbours. This country will soon be unable to manufacture anything, it will become as backward and helpless as China was. The rich are ruining us.

OPINIONS

  1. Rich people are the lowest form of filth on the planet, they indulge their poisonous greed and vanity totally regardless of the billions of people who suffer terribly merely because they were born in the wrong place at the wrong time.
  2. Only cretins and evil bastards want to be rich, everybody else understands the law of diminishing returns and values a just society more highly than personal wealth.
  3. The rich enjoy arousing envy in other people. Poisonous bastards. They characterise envy as the sin rather than their own greed, selfishness and conceit.
  4. The middle and upper classes are too thick to be able to imagine what it is like to be poor and too corrupt to care, to admit their own guilty, self-satisfied, "Bugger You Jack I'm Going To Maximise My Advantage Even If It's At Your Expense" complacency or to curb their greed one iota to alleviate other people's suffering.
  5. The poor are expected to admire and respect these bastards. Why should they?
  6. This is a society designed to ensure that the rich and their children can continue to prosper and everybody else can go to Hell.
  7. The poor have to endure the perpetual nightmare of having to work with, and for, happy, self-satisfied people who are much better off. How can they not become bitter and bolshie?
  8. Most of us have no choice other than to make filthy moguls richer while they screw us up.
  9. It is relatively easy for the rich to get richer, ie Bill Gates, Richard Branson. Branson is a relatively benign mogul but his smiling, contented face is an aggravation to all those trapped in poverty who didn't get a fat handout from their fathers when they left school.
  10. The only way the poor have a chance of escaping from their predicament is by sucking up to the rich and prosperous and becoming as corrupt and obnoxious as they are.
  11. Some people are doing very well out of other people's misery, there should be curbs on these bastards.
  12. The rich and prosperous refuse to acknowledge that society is unjust, that their wealth is corrupt, that they have any guilt: they won't admit anything that might interfere with their freedom to have whatever they want whatever the painful consequences for anyone else.
  13. People who have never been prosperous or happy in their lives are expected to work contentedly for and alongside people who have no experience of being anything else, it isn't possible.
  14. It is intolerable that people who were brought up in impoverished circumstances and have always been trapped in poverty have to watch those who were more fortunate having wonderful lives.
  15. One isn't allowed to criticise the situation and try to correct it, one is expected to make the best one can of it because it suits the fortunate people very well.
  16. The Damned rich make the lives of the poor a nightmare of humiliation, envy and hate, that is how they get their satisfaction.
  17. This is a master /slave society, the only slight improvement is that the slaves have a small degree of choice as to their master if they are prepared to beg and grovel..
  18. The aim of successful people is to demoralise the rest of us and so reduce our ability to challenge their supposed superiority.
  19. A large proportion of the people in this society were in a no-hope situation the moment they were born but the prosperous classes don't give a Damn.
  20. The poor are forced to live dismal lives and have very little opportunity to improve their situation while the rich and prosperous are free to enjoy life to the full, free of hardship and cares, they have to be stupid not to get richer. It can't be right.
  21. The rich and prosperous live under the delusion that they are guilt free, that they are entitled to exploit others to get more than their fair share of everything and to have a much better life than most people.
  22. People who have been poor all their lives are expected to pretend they want to work for the poisonous, damned rich.
  23. For the poor there is no way out of this poisonous, damned Hell, there isn't meant to be.
  24. It is damned unpleasant working with or for people who are much better off than oneself, especially as one gets older.
  25. Wealthy and prosperous people are mostly morally degenerate, self-satisfied, conceited, selfish, BYJIA filth. Most don't give a Damn about the fate of people trapped in poverty and hopelessness. They are selfish filth who use any advantage they can gain to line their own pockets.
  26. The wealthy and prosperous have the morals of the Mafia. In fact they are worse, their ethics are purely self-focussed whereas Mafia families are to some extent paternalistic and community welfare focussed.
  27. The rich and prosperous are so full of conceit they refuse to recognise their moral guilt, some even claim to be Christians although they are the equivalent of the money lenders and merchants Jesus slung out of the Temple. These people live in their own self-serving, self-deluding cuckoo land.
  28. It is almost impossible for the vast majority of the poor to escape from serfdom but they are expected to be happy about it in this moronic society.
  29. Most of the rich get that way by cheating everybody who works for or with them.
  30. This society is organised so that the rich and prosperous hold all the aces, however they came by their wealth.
  31. Why shouldn't the poor and distressed loathe the guts of the greedy and selfish and express their hatred and disgust. If they did this more vigorously only the out and out bastards would be such rats. But the rats have managed to transfer their own guilt to their victims by portraying any criticism as negative and not acceptable. In this society one is only allowed to feed the egos of those who think they are superior, not to suggest that they are vermin.
  32. The rich make sure they get all the enjoyable, positive, invigorating, stimulating experiences and the poor get all the frustrating, depressing, negative, debilitating, demoralising ones.
  33. The rich will never make any sacrifices on behalf of the poor, they would rather make life impossible for them so that they have to resort to crime to survive and can be banged up in prison when they are caught.
  34. One of the welfare tasks the Party will seek to perform will be providing the homeless with a home, work and training. It is scandalous that homeless people are still seen begging on the streets.
  35. Millions of people know they have virtually zero chance of ever being prosperous, why should they not be hostile to this society?
  36. Most of us are forced to work with and for people who think they are entitled to a superior life because they had mummies and daddies who enjoyed a superior life.
  37. There shouldn't be two classes, PAYE and NOT PAYE, employed and self-employed.
  38. It is made as difficult as possible for people to change their jobs so that they are trapped as serfs of the rich and prosperous.
  39. The Thatcher Conservative Government encouraged the excesses of bosses by reducing high earners' tax rates etc. while forcing the poor to work for pitiful wages, it was a government of slavery..
  40. The system is designed to discourage and defeat the poor so that they can be exploited by the rich.
  41. In this society people are expected to accept their deprivation of any means of obtaining a decent livelihood with good grace.
  42. Many people have the demoralising experience of perpetually being behind and losing ground in the rat race.
  43. The poor get crushed, demoralised, depressed, embittered, anti-social, angry, hopeless and give up trying.
  44. "Four or five of the richest men in the country made their fortunes from pornography", Clare Short, as reported on the 7am news, Radio 4, Fri.24th May 02. Sordid filth.
  45. A small section of society is getting very prosperous while the rest of us are getting more and more impoverished, relatively speaking at least.
  46. The rich don't give a damn if there are some people who can't earn a living at all, who are destitute. They won't make any sacrifices on behalf of those who are less fortunate, ruthless and uncivilised than they are.
  47. What is a reasonable ratio between the incomes of the richest and the poorest? 2:1? 4:1?
  48. The poor are supposed to get their enjoyment from watching the rich enjoying spending their money.
WHO DO THEY THINK THEY ARE? TOP

OPINIONS

  1. The vultures have descended to feed off the corpse of Railtrack. An item in the Nov.27th Daily Telegraph reveals that Alan Bloom, one of the administrators brought in to take charge of the company, is paid £450 an hour for his trouble. This works out at 18000 pounds per 40 hour week, 936,000 pounds per 52 week year. Ten to one he gets a fat bonus, lots of perks and shares as well. I think he is an accountant employed by one of the big US companies that have this field pretty well sewn up. Accountants are little more than clerks, most of what they do is routine and is supposed to be within strictly defined rules. Most of the maths they use is little more advanced than the addition, subtraction, multiplication and division most of us master at primary school. What makes them think their services are so valuable? The Prime Minister's salary is less than a quarter of what this guy is paid, who does he think he is?
  2. Catherine Zeta-Jones has reportedly signed a nine film deal with a pay-off of £54 million in the next three years and Jane Leeves has a £20 million contract for her (bit) part in Frasier up to 2005. The amounts of money paid to people in the entertainment industries are becoming ever more obscenely gross and sick. Film actresses only have to remember the lines for the next shot, can have almost as many attempts to get a shot right as they need, the best bits of each take can be stitched together in the editing studio and the fluffs can be edited out, make-up artists put their face on, surgeons and bra/corset makers shape their bodies, ie. they don't really have to have much acting talent or be particularly attractive so why are they paid these huge amounts of money. It is because there is a huge, almost insatiable market for entertainment. Vast numbers of people can find nothing better to do in their spare time than watch third rate films, sports events, quiz shows, soaps etc. on cinema screens or their TV sets, get obese and develop heart disease for lack of exercise. The small sums paid by each for this pap adds up to vast profits for those who manufacture it.
  3. How can people be expected to do important work for a few thousand pounds a year when pampered, painted, nothing special floozies are being paid millions for being the painted puppets of film directors.
  4. These celebs are vain, sordid, irresponsible, narcissistic, selfish, extravagance worshipping filth who are too stupid to realise how much anger and hatred their devotion to feeding their own poisonous egos and their indifference to the plight of others less fortunate than themselves arouses. They are too thick to be able to appreciate that they are guilty of creating a culture of greed, extravagance, envy, hatred, crime and violence as every other ignorant member of society (particularly the corrupt, criminal, members) follows their example and ruthlessly determines to satisfy their lust for wealth and power by even more disreputable means, regardless of the damage done to others and to planet Earth. It is time they were cut down to their real size, ie. that of very ordinary people who have been hyped up by the section of the media that devotes itself to cretinising the rest of us in order to exploit us the more easily.
  5. The American Dream is to get filthy rich and have everyone know one is filthy rich, they think this is the measure of success, that it proves they are better than everybody else. The Americans think this is not just a satisfactory basis for their morality but the best there is. In fact it is a cancerous disease which they are spreading around the world, this country is also badly infected and spreading the infection.
  6. The Damned American dream of being a filthy, rich swank is a nightmare for nearly everyone else.
