MEMBERSHIP DETAILS

The Social Justice Party needs YOUR help. It is intended to be a radically new party with some radically different policies. It's aim is to try to find a superior social and economic system to the disease of New Variant Feudalism (NVF), ie Capitalism, ie BYJALAIAS (Bugger You Jack As Long As I'm Alright Syndrome, pronounced bij-al-eye-us) and make this country fit for everybody to live in. This can only be achieved with the support and participation of large numbers of people. The aim is to tap the energy and talents of everybody who is awake and cares in order to find solutions to life's problems rather than allowing a privileged group with little or no experience or understanding of the difficulties most people face and a keen interest in preserving their own advantage to undertake this task. Some ways in which YOU might be able to help are given at WORK AVAILABLE.

To register as a Member of the Party, all that is necessary at present is to submit an application on the form provided. By doing so, a person will be considered to have undertaken to either, pay a Membership Fee when requested to do so or, to have volunteered to do some work on behalf of the Party. A wide variety of work is likely to become available, most of it of a committee, research or consultancy kind (at all levels from routine to advanced), some could lead to paid employment. To apply for Membership, use the Communication Form. The plan, at this stage, is to call for fees/funds only when money is required for specific purposes. Once there is a body of Members, fees and the creation of different types of membership can be debated and voted on. Types of Membership could range from something suitable for people who just want to give passive support, to something for people who want to live their lives within an environment akin to a commune, kibbutz or similar, organised by the Party, depending on demand. If the higher stages of the progression were implemented they would obviously require very significant commitments to be made by those involved.

It is intended to keep the basic Membership Fee as low as possible and, as mentioned above, call for it in instalments so that it is flexible. Membership will be terminated if a fee that has been requested isn't paid within one month. The length of the period for which one has been a Member might be a qualification for some of the Benefits of Membership so registering early could have a payback.

BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP

Access to this web-site will continue to be open to all and, for the present, it will not be necessary to be a member of the Party to submit your views or vote in polls, we don't want to deprive anybody, however impecunious, of the opportunity to express their opinions somewhere where they can have some influence (provided those opinions are not scurrilous, libellous, unacceptable under the Law etc.). Non-members votes in polls will be counted separately from those of members and for the purpose of comparison only, they won't count in Party policy decision making. The non-member vote may be published and so have some influence in that way. (It is hoped to take regular polls, one per week perhaps. Most are likely to invite participants to vote on whether they support or don't support each of the opinions expressed on a topic page, one page per poll).

Other web-sites carrying information about Party matters and activities will only be accessible to registered Members.

At present, the tangible benefits of Membership are not great so, as with other political parties, joining is more a question of giving support than obtaining benefits. However, if we can get organised, this could change rapidly. Hopefully, there is a sufficient number of people left who recognise that this is a venture that can fulfil an important democratic role and yield significant benefits and is therefore deserving of support.
